New Games for 2019
It looks to a be a great year for gamers everywhere and we are happy to be able to bring you our Top New Games for 2019 and check also our Best FPS Arena Games of 2019
1. The Sinking City
This adventure game is based on the novels of H.P. Lovecraft and made by Frogwares. You play as a private investigator called Charles W. Reed and you must explore the beautiful 1920s style city in search of clues to solve your cases. As well as searching for clues in the city environment Reed also has a special ability meaning he can see into the immediate past and also by studying memory fragments Reed is able to discover other non-physical clues. Frogwares are keen to point out as well that there are no waypoints or markers for your missions and that instead you have to piece together your own plan of action in your investigations. With absolutely fantastic graphics and characters, as well a transfixing city environment to explore, this must surely be one of the year’s most exciting releases.
2. Far Cry : New Dawn
This interesting new instalment from the Far Cry series is a FPS where the main plot takes place 17 years after ‘the Collapse’ when at the end of Far Cry 5 the United States is nuked; and although the map is based on the Far Cry 5 map, with some new additions and changes due to the nuclear fallout from the last game, the combat remains great and the bold introduction of self contained missions, called Expeditions, to the game is a welcome surprise in this open world classic. Explore, scavenge, fight, recycle and survive; this game has a bit of everything and pulls it all together very well.
3. Resident Evil 2 (remake)
This over the shoulder survival horror sees you playing as either a rookie cop, Leon S Kennedy, or as a student, Claire Redfield, searching for her brother in this intensely atmospheric zombie killer game. This remake pretty much keeps to the original plot line of Resident Evil 2 but the new graphics are outstanding, the zombies have been given an incredible individuality which was lacking in previous games and the map and environment is the perfect backdrop for the action. The supporting characters have been given a much better treatment as well than in the past and the gun play has lost none of its original quality.
4. Total War : Three Kingdoms
Set in the 2nd century CE in China, the studio have been looking for ways to keep the series evolving, and so this offering is far more character orientated that any Total Wars title to date. Each army is connected to a character who is loosely based on real people from that era. More importantly the character you choose to lead the army will determine the types of troops you are able to recruit, so bear this mind when heading off on a big campaign. Of course the battles are still intense, and units can be controlled on the battlefield as before but the introduction of the central characters to this dynamic is a risk that the studio thinks is worth taking, and given their track record of outstanding success we ought to give them the benefit of the doubt and dive into this epic addition to the Total War catalogue. The long wait for Total War fans is finally coming to an end and for those who are new to the franchise this will be an experience you won’t forget. Those are the New Games for 2019.
